They were one of the first to step up against animal testing and provided environmentally conscious products and packaging before we had a collective environmental conscious. Not only an entrepreneur and environmentalist, Dame Roddick was also an impassioned philanthropist and human rights advocate. She lived her life with passion and a desire to make things better wherever she could. She died from a brain hemorrhage on September 10, 2007. She was 64.
