Greetings from Rosemarie Jones of Kansas City, Ks. May19th, 2007
I need your urgent attention and assistance regarding my niece and her children in Oman. They are in need of getting help to get them all safely back to the United States. Immediate repatriation out of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman is needed.. Although she was awarded full custody of her children by an Oman Supreme Court decision; she now risks being deported from Oman without her children on June 1, 2007. Our family wishes to let her story be known, I am asking your help is spreading the word of her plight. Contact your U.S. Senators, Congressmen, the U.S. Ambassadors to Oman, and the Omani ambassador to the United States. Also contact any media source you may have local and national newspapers, radio, T.V. Stations and networks. News of her deportation just occurred. Time is of the essence and action needs to occur very soon!
Khadijah Heather Jones is an American citizen born in St Louis Mo. She has 3 children. Zakaria, Amani, and Yosef. Heather went to St. Louis to be with her family, and receive cancer treatments and her children were with her on the trip stateside. When she returned to Oman, her father assisted her in traveling with the three children. When they were picked up at the airport, they were separated into 2 cars. This is where Jamal abducted the children. Her husband, Jamal Mohammed AlBalushi then told Heather he was divorcing her, and in keeping with the law of Oman, when” I divorce you” is repeated it three times with witnesses as is required by law you are divorced. She discovered where her kids were 45 days later and went to them. She was then arrested as an intruder, severely beaten and all her keys were stolen by Jamal and her brother-in-law Faisal Mohammed AlBalushi, who until recently worked in the Palace for His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and has been terminated due to his involvement in this matter.
Jamal has threatened her life repeatedly. One time in front of US Embassy witnesses. Jamal pursued her in a car chase, Heather drove to US Embassy grounds where the guards there protected her, her father and the children behind Embassy gates. Suffice to say, there are many harrowing occurrences. There are too many to enumerate now. Bottom line is this, she is was forced out of the home, forced out of her job, and now looks at being forced out of the country without her children. She will not be able to enter Oman again, and due to the actions of Jamal canceling the kids American passports, the kids are not able to leave Oman. Intervention needs to occur quickly. Can you find it in your heart to contact your U.S. Legislators, contact the State Department and ask for inquiry into this matter? Her story needs to get out; many voices need to be heard. It is just not right to keep the mother who was awarded custody apart from her children. Jamal has stated outright he does not want the children, he just wishes to hurt Heather by using them as human pawns in his game to terrorize my niece.
Contacting your officials will help. Please, take the time to write. I have included on second page a list of addresses that you may want to contact in Oman and in the U.S. To find your Senator go here. To find your Congressman go here.
Further, could you please take a moment to send this message to your personal contacts? And request they send to their contacts. It will take a village to get the family back home .If you have any media ties, let them know this story. Our family is also trying to get this story on Oprah. The message can be simple: “Heather Jones risks being deported from Oman without her children June 1st. Please intervene quickly to keep the family together. Yusef (5), Amani (9) Zakaria (12½) and their American mother, Heather “Khadijah” Jones need immediate repatriation out of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.” Think about your family, imagine a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother is peril in the Middle East. It would make your heart sink. I believe in strength in numbers. Please let your voice be heard, and lets bring them home. Our action has to make a difference. Thank you so very much for your help. You are an important link in the outcome of this matter.
